Big Bend Blast!

Hey guys! We just got back from Big Bend and had TONS of fun!! I took tons of pictures! My sister got these new sunglasses for the trip. doesn't she look like a movie star?

This is my cousin Everal. She's found a cool rock!
A view from the window, while driving around the park.
 Isn't she pretty?
My Dad, being goofy as usual.
Setting up the tent! Everal there is "supervising"
Some views from when we climbed the Chisos Mountains! The views were absolutely breath taking!! The pictures really don't capture it at all.

 Hiking along!

Glory and I had tons of fun photographing every thing!!!
The men of the family =)
My movie star sister and I =)

Here we went to the Rio Grande. The cliff on the left is Mexico, and the cliff on the right is the United states!

 My dad, being goofy again.

There were lots of Blue Bonnets in the park.
 The Border!

Have I mentioned she looks like a movie star?

Hey look! There's me! I got a bad sunburn the first day, so for the rest of the camping trip, I had to where this silly hat to protect me from burning any worse. I actually grew rather fond of it, but it's really my dad's and he took it back when we got home. ='(

I don't know what this face is about, but it's cute! =)

On to the natural hot springs off the Rio Grande!
You can't really tell in this picture at all, but these palm trees are MASSIVE!!! They were planted there before when there was actually a spa!
We saw this horse on the other side of the river while on our way to the hot springs! Here we are walking off the trail to get as close as we can without crossing the river. =) This isn't the first horse we've seen on the other side of the river. Earlier, we had seen a little herd of three, one black, one brown, one buckskin. Those pictures are on my mom's phone though, so maybe I'll get them up later.

Check out these bird's nests on the cliff! Pretty cool huh?
These are called petreglyphs. Petreplyphs are when the markings are carved into the rock.
These are the hieroglyphs. Those are when the pictures are painted on.
Here we are at the hot springs! It was nice, but the real fun was in the river!

See, this is us playing in the river by the hot springs! There was a really strong current in the middle of the river, so we would swim up the side of it, then hop in the current! IT WAS BEYOND FUN!!!!  It was too deep to stand in the current part of the river, but there were rocks to stand on next to the hot springs. It was absolutely impossible to swim against the current, so while the current pulled us back towards the hotspring, we had to try to swim to our lefts as hard as we could to make it to the rocks where we could stand up and the current didn't pull as hard! Twice I didn't quite make it to the rocks, but luckily Mr. Lollo was there to catch me and send me back to the spring. Thanks Mr. Lollo! SO FUN!!!!!!!!!

Back in the hot springs. Mr. Lollo had to take a break, and we weren't allowed to swim without him as life guard.
Climbing up in the rocks! I was barefoot because my feet were all muddy from the river. I felt fine, but then mom found a scorpion under a rock as she climbed up to join me. She made me put my shoes on after that.

That has to have been the best camping trip of my entire life!!! We only stayed for 2 whole days and 2 half days. I could have and wanted to stay ALL WEEK LONG!!!!!! I HAD SO MUCH FUN IT WASN'T EVEN FUNNY!!!!! Wait, that doesn't make much sense does it? The point is, I REALLY ENJOYED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I definitely hope we get to go again soon!!!!!!!!! =D
